Rivers Casino Schenectady names Richards as GM

Schenectady is a city in New York State on the Erie Canal

Las Vegas casino executive Rick Richards has been named the new general manager of Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady. Richards is a former vice president and general manager at Station Casinos—overseeing a diverse portfolio of properties including Fiesta Henderson, Red Rock Resort Casino & Spa, Palms Casino Resort, and Texas Station Hotel & Casino.

Richards began his casino career more than 40 years ago on notable gaming floors throughout Nevada, including Caesars Palace, Bally’s Hotel & Casino, and more. He’s worked in varied roles from pit manager to shift manager to VP. Richards has also served as an operations consultant for several U.S. and international casino and resort companies.
“We’re excited to welcome Rick to the Rush Street family. He’s learned the casino and hotel business from the ground up with particular expertise around guest experience, team building, and performance—all of which are key areas of alignment and strength for Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady,” said Greg Carlin, CEO of Rush Street Gaming.
Richards has received approval from the New York State Gaming Commission and his appointment is effective immediately.
Richards will lead the Mohawk Harbor casino and its popular complement—The Landing Hotel—following the recent departure of Justin Moore. In April, Moore was named general manager of Rivers Casino Philadelphia.
After stepping in briefly as acting general manager, Jeff Cutri returns to his role as VP of Gaming Operations at Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady.
