Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology is the first gaming laboratory in the world to have met all the requirements of the Hellenic Gaming Commission
SIQ – the Slovenian Institute of Quality and Metrology – has been formally approved as a Certification Organization Operating a Specialized Laboratory, obtaining a license for testing gaming technologies in accordance with the new Greek gaming legislation. The scope of the license includes Casino technologies, Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) systems, and Internet gaming systems.
Zoran Svetic [pictured], Director, SIQ, said: “We are proud to announce that SIQ Ljubljana is the first independent gaming testing laboratory to have met all the requirements of the Hellenic Gaming Commission. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Greek Hellenic Gaming Commission for their trust and cooperation, and we are looking forward to many new projects that will certainly contribute to a higher quality of gaming in Greece.”
This approval follows on development SIQ in US, with two new licenses granted in October, the Vendor Minor license for testing of sports betting technologies in Colorado, as well licence for testing of all varieties of casino equipment in Ohio
The Hellenic Gaming Commission (HGC) is an independent administrative authority responsible for the regulation, supervision and audit of gambling activities, carried out in the Greek Territory, and was initially established in 2004 with Law 3229/2004 (A 38), and in February 2012, by virtue of Law 4038/2012 (A 14) was converted and functions ever since as an independent administrative authority, enjoying full administrative and financial independence and autonomy.
